About the Live music
Julian Seagull is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter based in Victoria BC. His work spans across multiple genres and styles.
Tonight he will be offering an impressionist, ambient, and meditative psychedelic soundscape to inspire embodied movement and play, focusing on the spaces between tension and resonance. Beginning with rhythmic and repetitive drones, he uses layered soundscapes, as well as melodic and textural gestures to invite awareness of your own internal response to vibration. These sounds can range from airy and angelic, to deep and guttural, sometimes straying into harsher moments of catharsis that soften toward resolution.
You are invited to move with and allow these energies to wash through and over you, as you explore movement with your body and heart space, opening into a deeper knowing of your unique expression.
